Fishing Pond Construction and Repair
Tom Biebighauser can help you build a fishing pond, lake, or stream. He has designed and built hundreds of ponds and lakes that support bass, bluegill, crappie, and trout in Kentucky, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Texas, Utah, and in Canada.
You are encouraged to contact Tom Biebighauser if the fishing pond or lake you manage is not holding water as planned. With his 44-years of experience repairing leaking fishing ponds and lakes Tom is skilled at determining what is draining a pond, and how to stop the leaking. He has found that the use of bentonite, bentonite mats and quilts, sodium bentonite, and the application of polymers to be both expensive, unnecessary, and ineffective at controlling leaks or sealing ponds, lakes, and wetlands. Tom will prescribe the most effective and economical way of repairing your pond so it holds water, supports fish, looks attractive, and will last forever.
Does the dam on your fish pond or lake need repair? Tom is skilled in repairing and improving dams, spillways, and water control structures. He has experience designing and supervising the construction and repair of over 1,400 dams across North America. He knows how to control erosion that will damage dams, and how to modify dams and spillways so that they will not be destroyed by beaver, muskrats, crayfish, or flooding.
Tom is willing to visit your site anywhere in the United States. He can help you find the best place to build a fishing lake or pond, and identify the most effective construction technique to use. The average cost to contract with Tom to examine and design one or more fishing ponds and/or wetlands on your land is $5,900.00. This cost involves his traveling to and from your site, being on the ground for two-days sampling soils, recording elevations, marking the perimeter of the fishing pond, determining if a dam is needed, mapping the designed pond or lake. Tom provides all of the soil sampling tools, survey tools, and marking flags, and marking ribbons needed to complete the design. Within a couple of weeks of his visit you will receive a detailed written design plan and an estimated budget for construction. He is also available to be on the ground supervising construction operations.
