About Hosting A Wetland Workshops
Hosts
You can help others learn how to restore wetlands by hosting a Hands-on Wetland Restoration Workshop. Individuals who host Wetland Workshops are leaders in their field, with a passion for helping the environment. You can organize a training session that will involve partakers in the actual construction of one or more wetlands from start to finish. Participants will be introduced to highly successful, easy to understand, and inexpensive techniques for restoring wetlands in fields, forests, and urban areas. Many of those who graduate can be expected to build wetlands and streams in their community.
History
Tom Biebighauser taught his first Hands-on Wetland Workshop at the Minnesota River National Wildlife Refuge in 2003. The event was so successful that other agencies and nonprofits requested training in their communities. Wetland Restoration and Training LLC has now taught Hands-on Wetland Workshops in 28-States, Puerto Rico, 3-Canadian Provinces, New Zealand, and Taiwan. While Tom is not an engineer; he has been training engineers for over 40-years how to build wetlands, streams, and ponds.
Tailored To Your Needs
Hand-on Wetland Workshops are tailored to provide training to meet your objectives. Participants can be shown how to build wetlands that provide habitat for rare species, clean stormwater runoff, reduce flooding, and recharge groundwater. Tom will work with you to plan and provide training for large or small groups. This training can be in person or virtual.
